Littlefork Location Hiring Journeyman Lineworker

North Star Electric Cooperative, Inc. has an opening for a qualified journeyman lineworker in our Littlefork service center.  Requirements include a successful completion of a lineman’s apprenticeship program and a current journeyman lineworker certificate. Must have experience with overhead and underground electric distribution, including line construction, line maintenance and troubleshooting, rubber gloving voltages of 7,200 and 14,400, and a great attitude, personality and work ethic. A valid Minnesota driver’s license with a CDL is required.

North Star Electric Cooperative, Inc. headquarters is located in Baudette, Minnesota with a service center located in Littlefork, Minnesota. Littlefork is located southwest of International Falls with a service territory encompassing areas including Kabetogama, Rainy Lake, Ash River Trail, and Voyageurs National Park. This is where the Rainy River runs north into the greatest fishery in the world, Lake of the Woods, and where world class walleyes are caught. The hunting is also exceptional, making it a can‘t miss location to live, work and play.

This position will be located in Littlefork, Minnesota with a no more than 15 minute drive time from home to office. The position has current union compensation and excellent benefit package.  Pre-employment physicals and drug screenings are required.

Primary responsibilities:

Installs, replaces, or retires poles, cross arms, insulators, repairs conductors, and replaces or repairs other equipment or materials as necessary.

Installs, replaces or retires transformers, oil circuit reclosers, capacitors, voltage regulators, switches, and other related equipment.

Patrols distribution lines, performs maintenance inspections, and prepares all necessary paperwork such as operational reports, drawing staking sheets, patrol and maintenance reports, and takes outage calls when needed and other related paperwork and duties, as assigned.
