INSTRUCTIONS FOR EASEMENT COMPLETION

 

  1. You must have legal description of property as it appears on your deed or abstract.  The description on your tax statement will not work.

 

  1. The name of the person(s) signing must be typed below the signature line.  The typed name must match the signature.  If the person signing is married, the spouse must also sign.

 

  1. If land is being purchased on Contract for Deed, the seller(s) and buyer(s) name(s) must be typed on the easement form and seller(s) and buyer(s) must sign the easement in the presence of a notary public.

 

  1. If multiple signatures are required and all parties cannot sign in the presence of a notary at the same time, the notary must use a separate acknowledgement.  These are available either at the recorders office or from North Star Electric’s office or website (www.northstarelectric.coop)  .

 

  1. Corporations signing an easement require a corporate easement which is different from the regular one.  These are available at the North Star office or website.

 

  1. The notary MUST state in the acknowledgement the marital status of the persons signing the easement.

 

 

Please return the easement to North Star Electric along with a check for $46.00 made out to the Recorders Office for the county that the property is located in.
