Electric Bill FAQ's
ACH (automated clearing house)—Direct Payment from Bank
Account
Now
that you no longer have to read your own meter(s), what could be easier for you
than having your electric bill paid automatically from your bank account on the
due date every month? You can quit
worrying about it getting to us before a late fee is added. You can save about $5/year on postage. This
service is free. You will continue to
receive your monthly statement showing how much will be taken out of your
account. We have been successfully
offering this service for years, and now that the readings are automatic, maybe
it’s time to make it even more convenient!

e-bill gives you access to account information and sends you complimentary emails when your bill has been calculated, which will be days before it shows up in the mail. You can still receive a paper copy, or choose the green method--paperless. More info on ebill…..
Payment Centers
In
addition to ACH and mailing your electric bill payment in the envelope
provided, you have the choice of delivering the payment in person to either our
Baudette or Littlefork office. You may pay your electric bill to any teller at
the Warroad Security State Bank, Deerwood Bank in Littlefork, TruStar in Big
Falls, Bremer Bank in
AMR
We can
only read your meter(s) if there is power to it, so if you shut off a breaker,
you shut off our access. We would
appreciate knowing if you have done this so we can properly estimate your
usage.
Payment Due Date
You
should receive your monthly billing before the end of every month. You have
until the 10th of the next month to pay without penalty. If your
payment is late, a 1.5% late fee is automatically added to your account. If you
still carry all or a portion of this amount on your bill on the 10th
of the following month, another 1.5% late payment fee will be added in addition
to a $5 late notice fee. If you should experience payment difficulties, please
contact us for help at 1-888-258-2008.
Billing Cycle Changes
We
adjusted the billing cycle starting with the June 2007 usage. Now that we do not have to wait for members
to report their readings, we moved the billing cycle up to be closer to the
time when the electricity was actually used.
You will notice on your historical usage that we show no usage for
September 2007. That is because about
six days of additional electricity was added to each of the June, July, August,
and October bills in 2007.
Budget Billing
Are
the seasonal swings in your electric bill hard on your budget? If you would
like to pay a set amount each month, please contact us to sign up for budget
billing. The bills sent out from July through May are all at a flat amount, and
the June bill reconciles the estimated bill amounts with the actual. This work very well with ACH, the automatic
payment of your electric bill from your bank account. If you would like information, please contact
Pat at patsynsec@wiktel.com .
